Is God Your Partner In Building Your Home?

Updated: Feb 10, 2023

Psalms 127:1 "Except the Lord Build the house they labor in vain that build it: Except the Lord keep the city the watchman wakes but in vain."

God is an Awesome God! He Reigns In Heaven and Earth-

I don't know about you, but I can see the Majesty and the Glory of God when I see mountains. I can remember every time I went to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville Tennessee I would just be in awe of the beauty of the Smoky Mountains. I was so excited! I would sit on the edge of my seat in the car and take hundreds of pictures. Most of the front windshield or rear-view mirror, but I managed to capture a few good pics. to take home to remember them by. I couldn't wait to tell everybody back home, I saw God there up in them there hills! I am awe-struck every time! I believe the hills are calling me back too! It baffles me how people try to live their lives on this earth without God. He is awesome!

Are you wise or foolish?-

In the Word of God, King David says in Psalms 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that does good." It is a very foolish person who says there is no God.

Look at the image above. God Almighty created this beautiful earth for us to enjoy. And you know what, we do enjoy it, yet leave him out. It's sad! How would you feel if you work so hard to build your family a beautiful home and they kick you out? They don't want you there? How would you feel? Broken-hearted and Grieved in your spirit? That is how Father God feels!

King Solomon said in the verse above Psalms 127:1 "Except the Lord builds a house they labor in vain that build it. Except the Lord keeps the city the watchman wakes but in vain." King Solomon became king after his Dad King David passed away. King Solomon is the wisest man on earth. God came to Solomon in a dream and told him he would give him anything he asked for. King Solomon did not ask for riches or for God to take his enemies' lives. King Solomon asked God for wisdom and understanding. 1 Kings 3:9-14 says, "Give therefore thy servant an 'understanding (hearing) heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad, for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? 10. And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11. And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life, neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies, but hast asked for thyself understanding to 'discern judgment (understand justice). 12. Behold, I have done according to thy words; lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. 13. And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked both riches, and honor: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee in all thy days. 14. And if thou will walk in my ways, to 'keep (obey) my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will 'lengthen thy days (prolong your life)." It says right there in verse 12 God made King Solomon so wise that no one was or will be wiser than him. King Solomon loved the Lord and wanted to please him, and he did! There is nothing impossible with God! He will move heaven and earth for someone who seeks to please him! All things are possible "with" God! Are you one of the ones King David calls a Fool who says there is no God in their heart? Or are you one of the wise ones who seek to please God? Who walks in the ways of the Lord as King David and King Solomon? Do you walk with God or not? You know who you walk and talk with every day, we all do. If you can't say, "Yes, I walk and talk with God, then you don't know him. He wants you to know him. He Loves You!

My favorite gospel song after I met Jesus when I was 28 years young is a song called, "In the Garden". I bawl like a baby every time I hear that song! The lyrics are "And he walks with me and he talks with me and he tells me I am His own. And the joy we share as we tarry their none other has ever known." I asked him to come into my heart and life and I began walking "with" him. It is such an awesome thing! Walking and talking with God! There is another song I like called, "Me and God", by Josh Turner. It goes, There is nothing that we can't do. Just me and God. He's my Father. He's my friend. I can't remember the rest right now, but I encourage you to look it up. There is nothing greater than knowing God as your Father, your friend, and knowing his presence is with you always!

Is God Your Partner In Building Your Home?-

Have you been trying to build your home or life alone, without God? You are so missing God's blessings and building in vain! Are you living like the song, "I did it my way?" You may say, I am doing great on my own. I have an awesome paycheck and life is good. There is more to God's blessings than a paycheck. Having the Presence of God and His Glory filling you and your home and family is more than riches. You will need him one day. When you pass from this earth, which we all will, you will give an account of whether you lived for yourself or Him. Wouldn't it be sad, if then you find out you lived your life in vain, you wasted your time on earth? Don't let that be your fate. Your soul is too precious for you to let that happen. Also, what about your family? Especially if you are a Dad! Your wife and children look up to you! You are supposed to be the spiritual head of your family. I know in these times we are in, the Mother is the head of the family. If you are a Mother reading this, where would your children spend eternity if they follow you? Are you allowing God to be your partner in building your home or are you just doing your own thing, what you feel like doing when you feel like doing it? Whether you are a Dad or Mom reading this, your children and maybe nieces and nephews are watching you. Are you leading them to Heaven or Hell? It is real whether you believe it or not. God is Real. You must believe that and teach your children to believe in God. Do you want to see them go to Hell because you have not partnered with God to build your home? If you have not invited God to take over your home, then he is not there! He is waiting on you to invite him in. He does not force his way in. And if God has not been welcomed in your home, the devil is. If you have not surrendered yourself and your home to God by an act of your will you better believe Self and Satan are in your home! When the storms come to your home because they will, storms come to everyone, your home won't survive! You need more than your "self" to protect your family, and Satan is surely not helping you! He is determined to steal, kill, and destroy you! If you have not by an act of your will given your life to Jesus, then Satan is your father. He has you already! He wants you to believe that God is not real so he can take you and your family to Hell to be with him! He hates God and he hates you! He does not want you to know the truth. Satan hates the truth! Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! You must see, and hear Jesus speaking to you right now! You need him! You need God's Presence and Protection in your life and home! Your family needs God! It is up to you to lead them to Him. It is your responsibility before God! It is your choice. Are you going to keep being a fool, living your life believing God and Satan is not real? Or are you going to turn from your wicked ways and be wise as King Solomon and seek to please the Lord?

Seek to Please the Lord-

Just as I am ending this article with Seek to Please the Lord, let your testimony say that you were foolish but in the end, you became wise and taught your family to Seek to Please the lord! Ask Jesus to come into your heart and life and take over your home. Ask him to fill you and your home with His Glory and Presence. He will do that when you put your faith in him. Hebrews 11: 5, 6 says, "By faith, Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him, for before his translation he had this testimony that he pleased God. 6. But without faith, it is impossible to please him, for he that comes to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

God knows what you need. He knows you need His Presence and Protection. Jesus says in Matthew 6:24-33 "No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and money. 25. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not life more than 'meat (food), and the body than 'raiment (clothing)? 26. Behold the fowls of the air for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not 'much better than they (of much more value)? 27. Which of you by 'taking thought (being worried) can add one cubit unto his 'stature (growth)? 28. And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, they toil not, neither do they spin. 29. And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30. Wherefore if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31. Therefore take no thought saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? Or Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32. (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek) for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things. 33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."
